Why using a
truck mounted tree spade results in higher survival rates:
A larger root ball is taken when transplanting a tree. For
example, a 2-½ inch caliper tree at a garden centre would normally
weigh approximately 350 lbs. Planting the same tree with a truck
mounted tree spade increases the weight to more than 1200 lbs. As a
result, more roots stay with the transplanted tree.
Less Stress. The tree is removed from the ground at the tree farm
and planted at the new location on the same day.
When access is not a problem, transplanting a tree with a truck
mounted tree spade is a very clean and economical procedure.
